Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Uganda (SHAU)

This documentary project explores the work of the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Uganda (SHAU) in supporting people living with spina bifida and hydrocephalus and their families. It examines the importance of public awareness, access to appropriate healthcare, family support and inclusion, while highlighting the role of community engagement and advocacy in addressing misconceptions and barriers to services. Through documentary photography, the project seeks to draw attention to the organisation’s efforts and the wider need for informed, accessible and sustained support for individuals and families navigating these conditions.
